Shoutout Saturday! Judith Martinez

Judith Martinez is the CEO of InHerShoes, the modern woman's community for courage. Judith is redefining traditional standards of what it looks like to be a successful woman today. Judith Martinez is a leader at the intersection of social justice and the future of human capital. CEO of In Her Shoes Movement, Martinez is a sought-after voice as an entrepreneur, speaker, and strategist mobilizing the next generation of leadership. She was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 nominee, has been featured in NASDAQ and Forbes, is a Vital Voices and TRESemme Global Leadership Fellow, and amidst the national awakening for social and racial justice in 2020, Judith was most recently selected to be a United State of Women Ambassador representing the state of California, working with former White House Obama Administration in furthering gender equity and its intersection on racial justice.

Starting as a "silly community project" in 2014, Judith's vision for InHerShoes began as a Kickstarter campaign she started the fall after graduating from University and secretly declining her dream law school acceptance. A first-generation Filipina American, Judith's work through InHerShoes is an example of what is available when courage overrides fear: a whole new world of possibility. Selected by Mogul as one of the best places to work for Gen Z today, alongside household names such as Costco, Nike, and Skillshare, InHerShoes has impacted thousands of young girls, women, and communities in the pursuit of possibility, one act of courage at a time.

A staunch advocate for environment-centered design, Judith has worked with organizations at unique front lines of social impact such as Ashoka, GOOD Inc., Unreasonable Institute, and has shared her voice on behalf of youth at the United Nations Youth Assembly. Passionate about cultivating intersectional leadership and advocacy across generations, Judith has worked with global leaders such as former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta on activating leadership in youth and is the co-author of Students Lead Now, the first book written by students, for students, on student leadership in the higher education space.

What would you do if you were 1% more courageous? Since 2014, InHerShoes has supported thousands of girls to be 1% more courageous while positively impacting their communities in the process.

About InHerShoes:

InHerShoes is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to catalyzing courage for girls and women around the world to live and create courageously. The foundation of everything we do begins and ends with one question: What would you do if you were 1% more courageous? We take a stand for girls' freedom of expression, the assertion of passion, and the pursuit of possibility in every aspect of their lives.

InHerShoes is a journey, not a destination.

InHerShoes is the catalyst for courage. Our work happens in split-second decisions, in-between moments, and uncomfortable situations that are all opportunities to take action. Our work is about expanding our capacity to be courageous - not just for the big stuff, but the daily moment choices that ultimately make up our lives and impact our communities for generations to come.

Being InHerShoes is being your best future self today. She is curious and daring; soft yet fierce; super and human. She is powerful, real, driven, and wants to make a difference. She is always searching and ever eager to grow. She is courageous.

InHerShoes is hosting a virtual community gathering next month for the holiday season called 12 Days of Courage from Thursday, December 10th - Monday, December 21st. For a consecutive 12 Days, InHerShoes will be hosting 12 IG Lives on our page with 12 courageous women to share in courageous conversation and lead a wellness activity that helps foster courage.
